Just barely. My intention was to have these and a few additional pink dresses ready for the shop in early October. But it has been an insane month and I cannot believe it is almost over. But these dresses are finally done, and since I wanted to do something to raise money for Susan G. Komen Foundation, I will donate $3 for each Pink October dress sold.

After a lengthy and unintended hiatus, I'm back! Nothing bad...just really busy with real life and the reality of having two teenagers (college visits, prom, musical, etc.) But the school year is winding down and the hectic pace is slowing to a more manageable level. That means more time for sewing. Yay!

A few new dresses are going up in the shop this week, with more to follow. I find so much pleasure in creating tiny little dresses for the most awesome dolly ever!

Dolls For Sale!!

It had to happen sooner or later...I have too many dolls! So over the next few weeks, I'll be purging a few at a time. It is very hard for me to let any go...but I just can't have so many. The first doll up for sale is my Mod Molly. She was one of the first dolls for I bought and her coloring was just never for me. I've had a bit of a phobia of selling dolls on the forums (Bad Dolly Deals Nightmares!!) but I'm just going to have to get over that. Last April Update!

I cannot believe April is almost over already!! The year is flying by at an alarming rate. Another month and the kids will be out of school and our family will be headed to the beach for a lovely (I hope!) vacation. I have much to do in the next few weeks!

I've been working hard in the sewing room to add some new dresses to my shop. I have too many ideas and not enough time to translate them all into completed dolly fashions. But I am trying! Keep an eye on my shop for more updates in the next few weeks. I've made it a goal to add a greater variety of items to the shop more frequently. So check back often - you never know what you might find tomorrow!!

New Girls and New Dresses!

My goodness - it's been a long time since I've updated my blog!! I've been busy taking care of lots of non-dolly related things lately. But I started sewing again last week and I've made some new dresses for my shop! Here are Sorbet (Simply Guava) and Sherbert (Simply Mango)in bright geometric print mod mini dresses:

I've been buying lots of dollies and fabric lately and I have so many ideas rattling around in my head - if only I had time to sit and create them all!!

Girls in Pink!

I love pink! It is so warm and happy, just what is needed for these cold and dreary February days. So I dug through my stash of fabrics to find some pink fabrics and made up a series of dresses for Blythe for my shop. Please have a look; some sold quickly and can be seen in my sold items. I'm happy to take orders for any of the sold dresses. These were lots of fun to make. I enjoyed finding the buttons and buckles and ribbons to add just the right finishing touches for each dress.

Next up for the shop: more dresses for Blythe and my first dresses for PukiFee and Lati Yellow. I've been fine tuning the pattern for the tiny dolls and I think I've about got it the way I want. I do have some other sewing projects lined up for this week, too. A t-shirt quilt and my swap quilt for Round 8 of the Doll Quilt Swap. Looks like a busy week ahead!

I've been busily sewing some new dresses for Blythe! I hope to update the shop Thursday or Friday. I have some really cute fabrics from my stash that I've finally decided to use. I have a problem cutting some fabrics, just can't do it. I see them and think "Cute Blythe dress!" and buy the fabric. Then I can't cut it...But my stash has reached problem status and so some fabrics are finally becoming Blythe dresses! I'm making another of these cake dresses (Penelope will not give this one up!); there's one with puppies and one with cupcakes...the fabrics are cute and colorful. Little bits of fun in candy colors...coming soon!

Wishing everyone the very best new year, and decade, too!

To get ready for a new year, I am having a sale in my shop. Sale prices are good through the end of today. Why not pop by and have a look? It's too cold here to go outside! Tomorrow I will start making new items! So excited to try some new things!!

I will also begin introducing clothing for a few other dolls, including PukiFee and Lati Yellow, Tiny Betsy McCall, Wonder Frog and Emerald Witch. Now, I'm only one person, so I don't think I will manage to keep the shop fully stocked for all of these dolls, but I hope to sew for a few at a time throughout the year. I've got lots of ideas and it will be fun to create some new things for a wider selection of dollies!

Pink and Peaceful

A new dress for the shop! This one is modeled my newest Blythe - Birdie; a Punkaholic People! I love her! Her haircut is adorable and her coloring is very pretty. I needed a dark-haired girl for my bunch and she is perfect!

I know it's been awhile since my last update - much has happened! BlytheCon was a wonderful experience. I met many sweet dolly people and some famous dollies! I've got lots of pictures in my Flickr. Halloween is also in the past; my dolls had fun getting some new Halloween outfits and doing a photo shoot for Flickr. My Emerald Witches came out of hiding for the event; and my small collection of Wonder Frogs showed off their costumes. I'm considering sewing for some of these dolls for my shop; leave me a message if there is one you would like to see clothing made for in particular.

I have a new love, too! My Pukifee Ante is adorable and so much fun to make clothing for. I just ordered a Ruki from Latidoll. Hopefully, she will arrive soon and I'll be sewing for her as well.

I just sent these dresses off to Linda for BlytheCon prizes. Can you believe it is just a month away? I have lots more sewing to do...guess I'd better get busy on that.
I will have a shop update later tonight; I just put up some photos on Flickr. It's going to be challenging to stock the shop AND put aside dresses for BlytheCon. My time is kind of limited just now. I've been working inside all morning, but the sun is shining and I have lots to do outside before I have to start driving kids around after school. So that's all for now!

Summer is winding down and I find I have zero time to sew. I'm a bit stressed getting all the last minute stuff together to send both kids off to high school. Yes, my baby goes to high school this year. {cries} I tried last week to make some new maxi dresses - I've got some new fabrics just begging to become maxi dresses! - but I'm feeling rushed and distracted. So my dolls ended up with a new, less than perfect dress. And I have nothing new for the shop.

But my kids return to school on Tuesday and I am planning a major sewing marathon. No phone, no distractions...just me and the sewing machine, a pile of fabrics and some dolly models. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? So look for some new things by the end of the week!

Summer of Love

Isn't it funny how fashions come back in style? When I was a little girl, I wanted maxi dresses and a gypsy haircut. Anyone else remember those? One of the reasons I love Blythe so much, other than she is a doll of the same era, is that I can create outfits that I would have loved to wear way back then. My mom wasn't a very fashion forward person, and most definitely not a hippie, so I didn't get the maxi dresses or the gypsy haircut. But I can make them for my dolls!

Shop is Open Again!!

After a longer than intended summer break, I'm happy to announce that my shop is open again! I've added a few new dresses; there are still some cute dresses on sale, too. I'll be adding new dresses as time allows.

I also need to get busy on my things for Blythecon. I'm very excited about the opportunity to be there and meet people I've only known through the internet. I will be sharing a table with other members of my Etsy team, Blythe Handmade Collective. And we'll have some Blythe goodies for sale! Yay! And a couple of my dresses will be given as prizes. So, I've got plenty to do between now and then!!

Just a Few Left!

All Blythe dresses in my shop are only $5 and I've only got a few left! I'll be closing the shop in a few days for my vacation. When I get back, I've got some fun new things planned. So stop by and help me clean it out!!

I've been a little busy with my kids swim team lately, and I've missed being on Twitter and Flickr. But after vacation, things should slow down a bit and I can get back to my dollies. And my sewing machine; it looks lonely sitting there, waiting for me to come and sew. The dollies are just waiting, too.

After a long week with numerous interruptions, I finally completed the dolly dresses I started out to make on Monday. These are all new fabrics -- bright and happy summertime prints. I think they turned out very well. And I am really liking my new custom ILYIT that I adopted from Kristen. She's been sandmatted and has some pretty chips and sleep eyes. All the things I thought I might like to change on my original ILYIT but never had the courage to do. I'm kind of tempted to paint her lids...I love girls with sleep eyes and painted lids - so pretty! But for now, I'll enjoy her the way she is.

Three Little Dresses

New today in my shop: a cute trio of mod dresses. This A-line dress is my current favorite dress to make and so cute on Blythe! I love these prints!! The psychedelic fabric has been very popular and is almost gone. I love the yellow and black floral and none of the dresses look alike because the pattern is so big. The third print is a new one...it's got fun circles that sort of look like planets to me, and gold metallic highlights. Pretty!

Tomorrow I hope to spend some time sewing some new dresses for my girls to wear...they don't have many dresses of their own to keep. I'll be experimenting with some new styles that will hopefully be in the shop soon. I also want to make some clothes for my new Momoko and my Nikki and Odeco...they are all anxious to make their debut, but they've got no clothes! Better get busy, I guess.

New Things for Spring!

I'm trying out a new style dress for my Little Whimsies shop on Etsy. I think it is cute and perfect for spring and summer. It is a mini dress, with a pleated skirt. It's got velcro at the back, which is a bit different for me, but the snaps were bulky and left a gap. The finishing touch is a ribbon belt with a sweet flower-shaped buckle. I've a few more fabrics I'd like to make up in this style, so keep an eye out!

Next up - more mod A-lines! By the end of the week, I'll have more mod A-lines ready to put up in the shop. Some new fabrics and some old favorites. I'd better get busy!!

My design for the Blythe Handmade Collective Easter Parade Challenge is finally complete! I listed this today in my shop, Little Whimsies, and also posted photos on Flickr. I'm really quite pleased with how it has turned out. I will make this design in the orange fabric as shown and also in yellow. I need to finish up the yellow one and get it listed. These will be limited since they take quite a bit of time to make. I also have a very limited supply of the yellow striped fabric and I can't find anymore. I've called every Hancock Fabrics within 100 miles and none is to be had. I've got more belt buckles ordered and on the way from Thailand.

This little outfit was inspired by a memory of an Easter outfit I wore a very long time ago. It was green, but it had the matching dress and hat with a pom pom and it just popped into my head while I was thinking about what to make for this challenge. If you look closely, you'll notice my side glance...just like Blythe!

I've spent this week trying to catch up on some sewing and get ready for the next month. Hard to believe February is just a couple of days away! I'll be having some specials to recognize Heart Month. Heart disease prevention is a cause that is near and dear to my heart.

This is the first of my Valentine's Day dresses. I won't be doing too many, just this one and a few others. I can remake these if there is interest. I have a couple more in the works that I've run out of time to finish this week. Hopefully, I'll squeeze some time in this weekend. The weekends get so crazy with all the kids swim meets and other activities. So much sewing and so little time!!!

Just finished some new party style dresses today. It's been so cold here that I chose some fabrics in pretty spring colors. They are over at the shop.

Bryn is very happy with her new eyechips. I think the light blue is a perfect color for her, even though they're called "Teal." They really just look blue to me, but very pretty for Bryn. This was my first eyechip change and now I'm eager to yank out my other girls' unflattering chips. Gotta order more chips...so many choices...

Hey there! It's been awhile since my last blog update. Been kind of busy with all that Christmas stuff. But it's over! Big sigh of relief. One more week of holidays and then it's back to normal. I'm spending lots of time thinking about new Blythe creations and hope to sneak up to my sewing space next week to get in some quality time with my sewing machine. I miss my time up there so much! I hope to have some great new things for the shop after the first of the year.

Christmas Sweetness!

This sweet dress is a one-of-a-kind creation I made for my shop. I am very pleased with how this one turned out. It has a scalloped hem and a fluffy tulle petticoat that is separate from the dress. So you can wear the dress with or without the petti - or at least your dolly can! But this one has sold, as have the rest of the Christmas dresses.

So I am making more dresses! I'm re-making the three mod dresses and I have ideas for a couple more in different styles. We'll see how much sewing time I fit in this week. It will be quite busy with Thanksgiving and all the food to be made.

So Pink!

Penelope's hair is the loveliest shade of pink. After a number of hair treatments, we've finally decided to let her keep it, for now. There are some very cute DaBi's out there with adorable bobs. And it's very tempting to cut it off. But Blythe hair does not grow back and since the long, curly, pink hair was the reason for buying a DaBi, I decided to put the effort into taming the frizz.

Penelope is modeling a new dress for my shop. I'm loving the pink and black shoe fabric! How fun is that?! You can see it in my shop here. I'll be putting more in the shop soon. I'm working on some Christmas dresses and I just bought a number of really cute fabrics that I want to get made up and into the shop. I really need more hours in the day...

Hope your Halloween is full of fun! Viv and I had some fun in the photo studio. She's ready for the witching hour! That's her pet raven, Nevermore, there on her arm. We tried on the new style dress I've been working on. It's almost there, just a few more refinements... The bodice is fully lined and all the seams are enclosed. And it's got scallops at the hem.

And I got three new dresses in the shop today. I've been playing with some prototypes of new ideas, but I'm not satisfied yet. I'd love to put some new styles in the shop, but for now, I'll stick with the modified Skipper dress. I really do like how it looks on Blythe. Here's Bryn in one of the new ones:

I also made myself a light box today so my girls don't look quite so shiny in their pictures. The white fabric really does diffuse the light so they don't get big white spots on their shiny, shiny faces. Something else to take up space in the sewing room... It does fold flat, but it's still something else! It's a bit crowded up there.

And I got my pink froggy today from Japan! I'm so excited. Now to make her some clothes. She's been trying on shoes to see what she can share with the Blythe dollies. I hope they don't mind sharing with the froggies too much...

11 Days to Halloween!!

This was such a cute little dress that I decided to make another!! It's in the shop, with some other cute things for Blythe.

Chloe got to model this one; I thought her hair went well with the orange! Of all my girls, she's the closest to a diva. She is very lovely, but doesn't always photograph well. Tonight, she kept sliding and falling and just when I went to snap the picture, her hair would flop in her eye. High maintenance for sure! But one of my very favorite girls. I'm not even tempted to customize this one, well, maybe just a spray matte...

I've been busy up in the sewing room! I had planned to have Halloween dresses ready early this year, but with the "hurricane" damage in September, the power outage and all the related clean-up, I just couldn't seem to get into a productive mode. But better late than never! I uploaded two babydoll style dresses today and may attempt another style or two tomorrow.

I just love how the orange in the dresses looks with their eyes. I can honestly say that today was the first time I've photographed any of my girls with orange eyes! Not my fave eyechip color, but useful for Halloween!!

Flossie and Vivvie were happy to try on some new dresses for the shop. They liked them so much I'll have to make some for them to keep!! But these are in the shop. There will hopefully be more soon. I snipped a tiny hole in the third one I was making, so my girls get to keep that one. Looks like a busy weekend so it might be early next week before I get back to the sewing machine.
